La violencia intrafamiliar es toda acción u omisión cometida por algún integrante familiar en relación de poder, sin importar el espacio físico donde ocurra. Es un tema que en los últimos años ha crecido notablemente debido a la falta de conciencia que tienen los ciudadanos y ciudadanas sobre esta problemática que aqueja a nuestra sociedad. El objetivo del presente estudio es determinar las distintas fases de violencia intrafamiliar, sus causas y efectos para tomar alternativas que eviten las agresiones en la población de estudio. El estudio ha sido diseñado bajo el método descriptivo, puesto que describió las principales modalidades de formación, estructuración o cambio de un fenómeno, como también sus relaciones con otros. Además, se aplicaron los métodos deductivo e inductivo, mediante las técnicas de observación, encuesta y entrevista. Se obtuvo que el 70 % de las familias encuestadas del barrio Miramar de Manta, Ecuador, mencionan que conocen acerca de la violencia intrafamiliar, quizás sus respuestas están relacionadas con casos observados o vividos por ellos mismos. ABSTRACT: Intra-family violence is any act or omission committed by a family member in a power relationship, regardless of the physical space where it occurs. It is an issue that in recent years has grown notably due to the lack of awareness that citizens have about this problem that afflicts our society. The objective of the present study is to determine the different phases of domestic violence, its causes and effects, to take alternatives that prevent aggression in the study population. The study has been designed under the descriptive method, since it described the main modalities of formation, structuring or change of a phenomenon, as well as its relationships with others. In addition, deductive and inductive methods were applied through observation, survey and interview techniques. It was found that 70% of the families surveyed in the Miramar neighborhood of Manta, Ecuador, mention that they know about domestic violence, perhaps their responses are related to cases observed or experienced by themselves.
