La academia debe mantenerse firme con su rol en la sociedad frente a los tiempos de distanciamiento social, esto puede implicar también la situación que se vive con la emergencia sanitaria del COVID-19; sin embargo, para esto es importante analizar las estrategias educativas aplicables, siendo el uso de ciberespacio una de ellas, con las aplicaciones como WhatsApp, Teams o Zoom, que facilitan la interacción entre los sujetos del proceso educativo: padres de familia, docentes y estudiantes. Por ende, se realiza un recorrido teórico sobre los estudios existentes que aportan a la educación a distancia, sumado a la concepción de la educación en tiempos de distanciamiento social, con el fin de revalorizar los ejes de acción de la academia: gestión docente, vinculación con la comunidad y titulación para y con la sociedad.Palabras clave: Academia; distanciamiento social; conocimiento.
