In November 2017, I premiered the work-installation-documentary We searche in the silence of things at Casa Mitómana (Quito), as the closure of an artistic residency guided by Shaday Larios and Jomi Oligor, from the group Oligor y Microscopia. The work explores the poetics of objects found in Bahía de Caráquez after the catastrophic earthquake of April 16, 2016, in relation to the city's own, family and collective memory. With the remains of lost houses and stories of forced displacement due to the infeasibility of the old inhabited place, this piece faces how to build from what remains and what was, how to remember from the cracks, how matter and memory are transformed and resignify themselves. In the work, a habitable memory space is built and inhabited by family stories and reflections on vulnerability, memory, loss and resilience. It is an invitation to look at the moment in which everything is transformed.En noviembre de 2017, estreneÌ la obra-instalacioÌ n-documental Buscamos en el silencio de las cosas en Casa MitoÌ mana (Quito) como fin de una residencia artiÌ stica guiada por Shaday Larios y Jomi Oligor de Oligor y MicroscopiÌ a. La obra explora la poeÌ tica de objetos encontrados en BahiÌ a de CaraÌ quez despueÌ s del catastroÌ fico terremoto del 16 de abril de 2016, en relacioÌ n con la memoria propia, familiar y colectiva de la ciudad. Con los restos de casas perdidas y de historias de desplazamientos forzados por la inviabilidad del antiguo lugar habitado, esta pieza se enfrenta a coÌ mo construir desde lo que queda y lo que fue, coÌ mo recordar desde las grietas, coÌ mo la materia y la memoria se transforman y se resignifican. En la obra, se construye un espacio de memoria habitable y habitada por historias familiares y reflexiones sobre la vulnerabilidad, el recuerdo, la peÌ rdida y la resiliencia. Es una invitacioÌ n a mirar el instante en el que todo se transforma.
