| dc.description | Climate change is one of the most pressing issues to solve in the international agenda in the contemporary world. This phenomenon has its roots in the industrial period where the current-day developed countries started to enrich themselves through the emission of damaging gases to the atmosphere. This article aims to answer the following question: why are there not more concrete and effective actions toward addressing of the most significant challenges in the international agenda? For that, John Stuart Mill’s utilitarianism will be employed to evaluate the actions of developed countries towards the mitigation of climate change effects and adherence to international standards and agreements toward this same goal. | en-US |

Este artículo busca responder a la pregunta: ¿por qué no se toman acciones estatales concretas y efectivas para vencer el mayor desafío contemporáneo a nivel global? Para responderla se utilizará el utilitarismo de John Stuart Mill a través de la evaluación del accionar de los países desarrollados en la mitigación de los efectos del cambio climático y su adherencia a instrumentos internacionales entorno al mismo fin. | es-ES |
