Resumen
The essence of this research work is to analyze the social, political and economic causes that cause illiteracy and school dropout in this commune of the Gulf of Guayaquil, and also to identify the strategies that can be used to eradicate illiteracy and semi-illiteracy in Port Rome. To achieve the realization of this research, many historical reviews of illiteracy in Ecuador were reviewed, the didactic strategies of the educational system of the city were also analyzed in order to compare the result of it with the results of what was extracted in this commune. in-depth study using qualitative methods such as research and action and interviews to gain an in-depth understanding of customs, the social context in which the inhabitants of the commune live and how they deal with their socioeconomic realities. It is appreciated how the government strategies to combat illiteracy within this commune did not obtain the proposed results. The method used contributed to decipher the main causes that produce school dropout, which in turn produces semi-illiteracy in children and young people of the commune. In conclusion, it was observed that the root of the problem has not been attacked, because what causes this commune to retain a significant number of illiterates and semi-illiterates is not the lack of a comprehensive literacy program, but the fact that social conditions The economic resources are not given to the inhabitants of this commune so that they can find a way out towards development through their studies.
