Resumen
The present research project was proposed to analyze the perception of teachers in the incidence of the use of social networks in the teaching-learning process of students of Higher Education of Quito, during the period March-July 2023.
For this purpose, a quantitative methodology was used that enabled the collection of data through a survey applied to teachers of this academic level in Quito, with the intention of examining their perception about the incidence of social networks in the aforementioned process. It took as reference the theory of connectivism, structured by George Siemens and Stephen Downes, as well as the social constructivism of Vigotsky, considering connectivism as a pedagogical model that provides its knowledge to a network where diverse organisms access, and that is also responsible for making user feedback, with new information collected from other users, thus forming a cycle of knowledge development.
As a result of this research, it is resolved that the influence of social networks is positive in the teaching and learning process, because teachers say that the use of social networks is a pedagogical tool for their chairs; In addition, they enhance students' knowledge.
It is recommended that teachers implement the pedagogical model of connectivism and in this way achieve that they acquire new methods of teaching different from the traditional one, so that these enhance not only the student’s learning but also his skills.
