RESUMEN
El sistema de bombeo de agua de la Universidad de Holguín es uno de los factores que inciden en el consumo de energía eléctrica de dicha institución. El presente artículo se basa en el resultado de un proceso investigativo con la participación de los estudiantes en dicho estudio y contribuir al desarrollo de sus habilidades investigativas y en especial a la educación energética. Con la investigación se determinó el comportamiento del consumo de energía eléctrica asociado al bombeo de agua, aspectos como tiempo de encendida la bomba, volumen de agua bombeada y consumo eléctrico permitieron describir ese comportamiento, y valorar qué tan eficiente energéticamente es este. También se analizaron dos puntos muy importantes: costos e influencia al medio ambiente, ya que son detalles decisivos a la hora de tomar soluciones.

ABSTRACT
The system of pumping water from the University of Holguín is one of the factors influencing the consumption of electrical energy of that institution. This article is based on the results of an investigative process with the participation of the students in the study and contribute to the development of their investigative skills and especially energy education. With the research determined the behavior of electricity consumption associated with pumping water, aspects such as time on the pump volume of pumped water and electrical consumption allowed describe that behavior, and evaluate what so efficient energy is this. Also two very important points discussed: influence to the environment, since they are details crucial to make solutions and costs.
