Technology has facilitated the automation of manual processes, which has brought benefits to the companies. A process that has been postponed and requires intervention in the cardboard company is the automation of the raw material collection area. Consequently, the general objective of this research is the implementation of a project to automate the manual processes of the collection area for the construction of cardboard boxes. It has been determined that the research method is based on a qualitative approach. The results of the study have been analyzed from three thematic areas: restriction, traceability and information systems, which have helped to understand the needs of the expert collaborators in the collection area. The realization of the study evidences the feasibility of implementing an information management system for the raw material collection area, which will generate benefits for the company.La tecnología ha facilitado la automatización de procesos manuales, los cuales han traído beneficios a las empresas. Un proceso que está postergado y requiere su intervención en la empresa cartonera, es la automatización del área de acopio de materia prima. En consecuencia, esta investigación tiene como objetivo general la implementación de un proyecto que permita automatizar los procesos manuales del área de acopio para la construcción de cajas de cartón. Sé ha determinado que el método de investigación se fundamente con un enfoque cualitativo. Los resultados del estudio han sido analizados desde tres temáticas: restricción, trazabilidad y de sistemas de información, los cuales han apoyado a conocer las necesidades de los colaboradores expertos del área de acopio. La realización del estudio evidencia la factibilidad de implementación de un sistema de gestión de la información, para el área de acopio de materia prima, los cuales generarán beneficios para la empresa.
