| dc.description | Polycystic ovary syndrome is the most prevalent female endocrine disorder, in which functional ovarian hyperandrogenism or chronic hyperandrogenic anovulation is the main clinical and biochemical feature being heterogeneous with an endocrine-metabolic dysfunction with multiple reproductive, metabolic and cardiovascular components. The i´am of the research was to analyze the association between CA-125 antigen and risk factors associated with ovarian cancer in women with polycystic syndrome. A bibliographic study was carried out, including articles published in the Scielo data base, Google Scholar, etc. from the last 7 years, using the terms: ''Cancer'', ''Syndrome'', ''Metabolism'', ''Polycystic'', and selection criteria based on relevance and focused on the subject. As a result, it was obtained that polycystic ovary syndrome is associated with metabolic abnormalities such as dyslipidemia, insulin resistance and type II diabetes, and it is also one of the most frequent causes of reduced fertilities, in addition it has a balance in female hormones causing the formation of ovarian cysts. Finally, the efficacy of the CA-125 antigen was evidenced, this represents the best tool to predict the risk of ovarian cancer. | en-US |
| dc.description | El síndrome de ovario poliquístico es el trastorno endocrino femenino más prevalente, en el que el hiperandrogenismo ovárico funcional o anovulación crónica hiperandrogénica es la principal característica clínica y bioquímica siendo heterogéneas con una disfunción endocrino - metabólica con múltiples componentes, reproductivos, metabólicos y cardiovasculares. El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar la asociación del antígeno CA – 125 y los factores de riesgo asociados al cáncer de ovario en mujeres con síndrome poliquístico. Se realizó un estudio de carácter bibliográfico, donde se incluyeron artículos publicados de la base de datos de Scielo, Google Académico, etc. de los últimos 7 años, se utilizaron los términos: “Cáncer”, “Síndrome”, “Metabolismo”, “Poliquístico”, también se aplicaron criterios de selección basados en la relevancia y centradas en la temática. Como resultado se obtuvo que el síndrome de ovario poliquístico se asocia con anomalías metabólicas como dislipidemia, resistencia a la insulina y diabetes tipo II, y también es una de las causas más frecuentes de reducción de las fertilidades, además tiene un balance en las hormonas femeninas provocando formación de quistes en los ovarios. Finalmente, se evidenció la eficacia del antígeno CA-125, este representa la mejor herramienta para predecir el riesgo de cáncer de ovario. | es-ES |
