Resumen
The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) attacks the immune system and weakens the defense against many infections and certain cancers that people with healthy immune systems can fight off. The association and coexistence of opportunistic intestinal parasites has been established and the worldwide prevalence has increased in individuals with HIV, with Cryptosporidium, C. cayetanensis and C. belli being the main intestinal organisms. The objective of this systematic review research is to describe opportunistic diseases and intestinal coccidia in patients with HIV in order to know the most frequent coccidia parasites. The research design is a bibliographic systematic review with scientific foundation using PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar, Redalyc databases on studies carried out on people with HIV, from 2017 to the present. The results that were given are that the parasitic diseases that occur most frequently in people with HIV are those produced by the parasite Giardia lamblia and Ascaris lumbricoides, in this study, while Cryptosporidium spp, was one of the most prevalent intestinal coccidia, and as opportunistic diseases, the fungus Candida albicans and Mycobacterium tuberculosis were obtained. It was concluded that, in general, more efficiency is required in the control of intestinal parasites in people with HIV, so that timely diagnosis and treatment are given, thus complications that can cause the death of the patient can be avoided.
