Syphilis is a disease caused by sores on the genitals called chancres and is transmitted through contact and is asymptomatic. This article deals with a current review of the prevalence of syphilis and complications in patients with HIV. The objective is to determine the factors associated with the disease through a bibliographic documentary methodology, the information analyzed was selected through inclusion and exclusion criteria, and scientific articles from the years 2017 to 2022 were included. In the results, at a more relevant general level, it stands out that the risk of syphilis infection is higher in men and increased with age. In other relevant data, it was observed that HIV and syphilis infection had a variation of 8 to 25%.
