Impacto psicosocial del confinamiento por la pandemia de COVID–19 en el bienestar emocional y cognitivo en adultos mayores de la ciudad de Arequipa

Resumen
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la asociación del impacto psicosocial del confinamiento por la pandemia de Covid – 19 en el bienestar emocional y estado cognitivo en Adultos Mayores de la ciudad de Arequipa. La investigación es de estrategia asociativa y de tipo comparativo, con un diseño transversal. La muestra está conformada por 164 participantes, con edades comprendidas entre los 55 y 95 años, de los cuales 57 son varones y 107 mujeres. Se ha optado por aplicar una ficha sociodemográfica, el Inventario de Impacto de Epidemia y Pandemia (EPII), la Escala de Soledad, el Cuestionario de Propósito de Vida y la Escala de Cognición en la Vida Diaria (E-COG). Los resultados muestran que, un mayor impacto psicosocial general del confinamiento por la pandemia de coronavirus se relaciona a una mayor percepción de quejas cognitivas subjetivas en relación al lenguaje y atención dividida; mientras que, una mayor percepción de problemáticas en dimensiones específicas del impacto psicosocial se relaciona a mayores quejas cognitivas en habilidades como la memoria, habilidades visoespaciales, organización y planificación. Así mismo, un mayor impacto psicosocial, también en ciertas dimensiones, se asocia a una mayor percepción de soledad, especialmente una soledad emocional, y menores propósitos de vida; además, se encontró que una mayor percepción de cambios positivos durante la pandemia, actúan como factores protectores, manteniendo y/o mejorando las habilidades comunicativas de los participantes, asociándose también a menores sentimientos de soledad (tanto soledad emocional y social) y un mayor propósito de vida.
