primaria. The present research aims to determine the effectiveness of the overall
method to improve literacy levels in students in the first grade of primary
education in the I.E. 80823 ""The Indo - American"", from El Porvenir, 2016.
The research is framed in the quasi - experimental design, with pretest tests
and intact groups. The population is made up of 179 students who attend the
first grade of Primary Education in the I.E. 80823 ""The Indo-American"", and
as shown by 57 students in two sections (""A"" and ""C""), obtained by non-
probabilistic random sampling consisting of random selection, two of the 6
sections of the first degree from EI 80823 ""The Indo-American"" section of the
first ""A"" became the control group and the section of the first ""C"" became the
experimental group. For the collection of information, the quantitative scale
used to measure literacy was used as an instrument. The results of both the
Pretest and the Posttest were organized and presented in tables and
statistical graphs.
The results obtained allowed to determine the efficacy of the overall method
to teach literacy in first grade students. Tesis
