Resumen
Las maloclusiones dentarias ocupan el tercer lugar de patologías bucodentales ocasionado generalmente por los hábitos bucales deletéreos, la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo: Determinar la asociación de hábitos bucales deletéreos con maloclusiones dentarias en niños de 6 a 12 años de la “I.E.P. 70621 20 de Enero”. Juliaca 2019. La metodología es descriptivo observacional de corte transversal y de diseño no experimental, se empleó un muestreo no probabilístico y fue conformada por 83 estudiantes de 6 a 12 años que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, para ello fue necesario realizar una encuesta a los padres de familia y un examen clínico a los estudiantes, previo consentimiento y asentimiento informado, Además se consideró como hábito bucal deletéreo la coincidencia entre la afirmación del padre en la encuesta y que ésta coincida con el examen clínico. Resultados: Se encontró que los niños de 8 a 9 años presentaban mayor número de hábitos bucales deletéreos y predominó la respiración bucal con un 35%, por otro lado los niños de 8 a 9 años presentaban con mayor frecuencia las maloclusiones verticales con un 43% y se encontró una asociación entre el hábito de interposición lingual con mordida abierta en un 90% correspondiente a la maloclusión vertical; asimismo se encontró una asociación entre el hábito de respiración bucal y mordida cruzada en un 73% correspondiente a la maloclusión transversal y por otro lado se evidenció una asociación entre el hábito de onicofagia y maloclusión clase I correspondiente a una maloclusión anteroposterior en un 94%. Conclusión: Se demostró que existe una asociación significativa entre los hábitos deletéreos y las maloclusiones dentarias con un valor p=0.001. Tesis
