SARS-CoV-2 disease has started a health emergency around the world at the end of 2019. Preventive measures adopted and established in different institutional protocols have forced health professionals to adopt behaviors of social and occupational distancing that, on the one hand, prevent the spread of the disease, but on the other, force to change the modality of medical care. The aim of this work was to describe a case of diagnostic and therapeutic delay due to fear of exposure during oropharyngeal examination in a patient with odynophagia in the coved era.La enfermedad por el coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 ha iniciado a fines del año 2019 una emergencia sanitaria alrededor del mundo. Las medidas de prevención adoptadas y establecidas en los distintos protocolos institucionales han obligado a los profesionales de la salud a tomar conductas de distanciamiento social y laboral que por un lado previenen la diseminación de la enfermedad, pero que por otro obligan a cambiar la modalidad de atención médica. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue describir un caso de retraso diagnóstico y terapéutico por temor a exposición durante examen orofaríngeo en paciente con odinofagia en época de covid.
