An intermittent filter with grave of 1/8” of diameter was built as secondary treatment located after an anaerobic biodigester. The primary effluent is divided by a flow divisor and goes to the filter by a hydraulic flow dispenser that functions by gravity. The treatment unit requires little maintenance and operation tasks and presents an average removal of BOD5 equal to 63%, of COD equal to 66% and suspended solids equal to 45%. The effluent quality does not reach the efficiency obtained by recirculating filters.Se construyó un filtro intermitente de grava de 6mm de diámetro para tratamiento secundario a la salida de un biodigestor anaerobio. El efluente primario se fracciona con un divisor de caudal y pasa hacia el filtro por medio de un dosificador de caudal que funciona completamente por gravedad. La unidad requiere pocas labores de operación y mantenimiento, y presenta una remoción media de DBO5 igual a 63%, de DQO igual a 66% y de SST igual a 45%. La calidad del efluente no alcanza la eficiencia dada por filtros con recirculación.
