dc.descriptionThe present work has as its primary purpose to discuss the diverse mechanisms that indigenous society implemented to confront the cultural disarticulation inherent in the implementation of the colonial regime. It explores the manifestations of “heterodox” practice, among Maya groups of Q’eqchi’s, Poqomchi’s and Achís within a long time frame. Additionally, centers on elucidating the presence of the pre-Columbian substrate both in the most intimate of family ritual and within the sphere that shook public worship and the diverse forms of organization that concern native confraternities.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo tiene la finalidad primordial de discutir los diversos mecanismos que la sociedad indígena implementó para afrontar la desarticulación cultural inherente a la implantación del régimen colonial. Explora para ello las manifestaciones de la práctica “heterodoxa” entre los grupos mayas q’eqchi’s, poqomchi’s y achís en un dilatado marco temporal. En forma adicional, se centra en dilucidar la presencia del sustrato precolombino tanto en el entorno más íntimo del culto familiar como al interior de la esfera que trastocaba el culto público y las diversas formas de organización que conciernen a las cofraternidades nativas.es-ES
