With the promulgation of Law N° 129 of March 17, 2020, the Private and Unique Registry System of Final Beneficiaries of Legal Persons has been created in Panama. With this regulation, the Republic of Panama will be able to have greater and better access to who are the final beneficiaries of legal persons, a fundamental tool for the prevention of money laundering, terrorist financing and other similar crimes. In this article, the antecedents, current conditions and perspectives related to this Law are discussed.Con la promulgación de la Ley N° 129 de 17 de marzo de 2020 ha sido creado en Panamá el Sistema Privado y Único de Registro de Beneficiarios Finales de Personas Jurídicas. Con esta norma, la República de Panamá podrá tener mayor y mejor acceso a quiénes son los beneficiarios finales de personas jurídicas, una herramienta fundamental para la prevención de delitos de blanqueo de capitales, financiamiento al terrorismo y otros crímenes similares. En este artículo, se comentan los antecedentes, condiciones actuales y perspectivas relacionadas con esta Ley.
