| dc.description | The purpose of the article is to determine the impact of the output gap on the level of inflation in Nicaragua for the period 1992-2018. For this purpose, two econometric models were used; the first of multiple regression and the second an autoregressive vector (VAR). The results suggest that the output gap impacts inflation at 0.52 percent, and it was determined that fluctuations in the output gap can affect the usual level of prices per year and then this effect is diluted. Therefore, it is concluded that the aggregate supply approach is useful in explaining the inflationary dynamics in Nicaragua and that the inflation-output gap relationship is characterized by an inelastic condition. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo tiene por finalidad determinar el impacto de la brecha producto en el nivel de inflación de Nicaragua para el periodo de 1992-2018. Para tal propósito se utilizaron dos modelos econométricos; el primero de regresión múltiple y el segundo un vector autorregresivo (VAR). Los resultados sugieren que la brecha producto impacta en la inflación en 0.52 porciento, además se determinó que las fluctuaciones en la brecha producto, pueden afectar el nivel habitual de precios por año y luego dicho efecto se diluye. Por lo descrito, se concluye que el enfoque de oferta agregado, es útil para la explicación de la dinámica inflacionaria en Nicaragua y que la relación inflación-brecha producto está caracterizado por una condición inelástica. | es-ES |
