Proporcionan soporte físico, adsorben el agua y los nutrientes, almacenan carbohidratros durante las estaciones frías o secas y producen hormonas. Las raíces más gruesas cercanas al tronco del árbol -llamadas raíces proximales- ayudadn a fijar la planta y poseen tejidos de trasporte; mientras que las raíces fins toman el agua y los nutrientes.es-AR
