The Joint ICMI/IASE Study was organised by the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI; www.mathunion.org/ICMI/) and the International Association for Statistical Education (IASE; www.stat. auckland.ac.nz/˜iase/) to address the lack of attention to teaching statistics in schools. Results from this Study were reflected first in the Proceedings of the Joint ICMI/IASE Study Conference held in Monterrey in 2008 (www.ugr.es/˜icmi/iase_study/) and secondly in the Joint ICMI/IASE book that is to be published in the ICMI Study series by Springer. In this Session the main conclusions of this Study and the Study book will be presented.El estudio conjunto ICMI / IASE fue organizado por la Comisión Internacional de Instrucción Matemática (ICMI; www.mathunion.org/ICMI/) y la Asociación Internacional para la Enseñanza de la Estadística (IASE; www.stat.auckland.ac.nz/ iase / ) para hacer frente a la falta de atención a la enseñanza de la estadística en las escuelas. Los resultados de este estudio se reflejan por primera vez en las Actas de la Conferencia de Estudio Conjunto ICMI / IASE, celebrada en Monterrey en 2008 (www.ugr.es/ ICMI / iase_study /) y en segundo lugar en el libro conjunto ICMI / IASE que se publicará en la serie de estudios ICMI por Springer. En esta sesión se presentan las principales conclusiones de este estudio, así como el libro Estudio.
