dc.descriptionSeven cases of subungual tumors are described, five of which were benige and two malignant. For diagnosis of benign tumors, a relatively slow develop­ment and the presence of pain are considered significant, especially when there is subungual pigmentation. In malignant tumors, the existence of traumatism in the case history, the absence of pain, and the presence of pigmentation are ins­dipensable factors in diagnosis.Some considerations are presented with regard the correct terminology to be used in pigmented tumors. The treatment be followed is indicated in each case.en-US
dc.descriptionLos autores presentan siete casos de tumores subungueales de los cuales cinco benignos y dos malignos. Se considera muy importante para el diagnóstico de los tumores benignos la falta del desarrollo de la tumoración en relación con el período de evolución y la presencia del dolor, sobre todo cuando hay pigmentación subungueal. En los tumores malignos la presencia de traumatismo en la historia del paciente, la falta del dolor y la presencia de pigmento son factores indispensables para el diagnóstico. Se hacen algunas consideraciones re­ferentes a la terminología correcta que se debe usar en los tumores pigmentados y se indica el tratamiento a seguir en todos estos casos.es-ES
