dc.descriptionUNICEF published in 2002 an approximation to a very prudent Code of Ethics which insists that the research, monitoring or evaluation of programs y projects which affect the rights and interests of children and adolescents contribute in the most integral form to the quality of knowledge management of the target or subject population. This article summarizes the lessons obtained from the intent to apply this and other Codes of Ethics to diverse categories of field projects of university students, including theses, other graduation projects, professional internships, in 7 UCR disciplines and in 8 disciplines and one studies program in 5 other universities in Costa Rica. These have been participative projects of action research regarding critical factors of quality of life and projection of adolescents and youth. This has been proposed also for projects that affect the rights and interests of the elderly, involving an adaptation of the normative. The article analyzes the relevance attributed to the different terms of the normative and other codes for the different projects, regarding the real participation of the target or subject population, scientific rigor, validity, impact on decision making and possibility of institutionalizing the better practices which are rehearsed and successful. In these terms, much depends on the predisposition of the university students, their directors or committees of supervision of the field work and other interested parties to accept this level of protagonist role of the target or subject population and to undertake these initiatives to strengthen their knowledge management and that of the interested institutions.en-US
dc.descriptionUNICEF publicó en el año 2002 una aproximación a un Código de Ética dirigido a la investigación, monitoreo y evaluación de proyectos que inciden en los derechos e intereses de los niños, niñas y adolescentes, a fin de contribuir con la calidad de gestión de conocimientos en forma más íntegra para la población meta. Se presentan las lecciones obtenidas en el intento de aplicar la aproximación del Código de Ética de UNICEF y otros afines a muy diversas categorías de proyectos de campo realizados por estudiantes universitarios como tesis, TFG, TFIA, TCU y Prácticas Profesionales en 7 carreras de la UCR y 8 carreras y un programa de 5 otras universidades en Costa Rica. Los proyectos han sido participativos de investigación acción o evaluación de factores críticos de calidad de vida y proyección de adolescentes y jóvenes. También, se ha propuesto para proyectos que afectan a los derechos e intereses de los adultos mayores, donde se plantea su participación en la adaptación de dicha normativa a la realidad y a la proyección de su generación. Se analiza la relevancia relativa atribuida a los diferentes términos de la propuesta normativa y otros Códigos para cada uno de los proyectos y los resultados de participación real, relevancia, rigor científico, validez, impacto en la toma de decisiones y posibilidades de institucionalizar las mejores prácticas que han sido ensayadas. Los resultados obtenidos dependieron de la predisposición del estudiantado universitario, sus directores, comités de supervisión y otros interesados para aceptar este nivel de protagonismo de las poblaciones meta y encaminar estas iniciativas hacia una mejorara de la calidad de gestión de conocimientos de la población objetivo, del estudiante universitario y de las instituciones involucradas.es-ES
