dc.descriptionAny substitution implies newer and better elements and conditions of what it replaces. The modernity is defined by suppositions that the architecture takes in two of its more emblematic and opposite expositions: the housing and the house. Starting from functionalism as one of the ideological proposals that supports these replacements, in the present work the episteme of this modernism is explored. In its peculiar interpretation and adaptation in Mexico, it is considered that its greatest wealth would be reflected in the house and beyond the cities or hegemonic authors, observing that its execution and discussion arises from dichotomies and dualities, in addition to its implementation would contradict one of its greatest postulates: the univocity.
dc.descriptionToda sustitución supone nuevos y mejores elementos y condiciones de lo que reemplaza. La modernidad se define desde esos supuestos que la arquitectura hace suyos en dos de sus planteamientos mas emblemáticos y contrapuestos: la vivienda y la casa. Partiendo del funcionalismo como una de sus propuestas ideológicas que sustentan dichos reemplazos, en el presente trabajo se explora la episteme de este modernismo. En su peculiar interpretación y adaptación en México, se reflexiona que su mayor riqueza se reflejaría en la casa y mas allá de las ciudades o autores hegemónicos, observándose que su ejercicio y discusión surge desde dicotomías y dualidades, además que su implementación contradeciría uno de sus mayores postulados: la univocidad.
