Resumen
Artículo Abstract: In this study, a drug delivery system was designed by the encapsulation of functionalized TiO2-Cu-Extract (TCE) nanoparticles obtained via green synthesis on a Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) matrix (TCE/PLGA). TCE nanoparticles showed improved optical absorption, band-gap energy, surface functional groups, and average nanoparticle size compared to pure TiO2 nanoparticles. The drug delivery system showed a controlled and sustained release for 24 h on simulated physiological conditions. β and n values of Weibull and Korsmeyer-Peppas models indicate that the release mechanism is a Fickian diffusion. Therefore, these results are promising for future research on the biomedical applications for TCE/PLGA drug delivery systems.
