Resumen

Emmotum harleyi R. Duno (Icacinaceae), a new species of Emmotum Desvaux, is described, illustrated, and compared with E. nitens (Bentham) Miers. This new species from Bahia, Brazil, is distinguished by leaves densely tomentose abaxially with large and crisped hairs, secondary nerves 9 to 11, and ovary glabrous. Furthermore, lectotypes for E. nitens (Bentham) Miers and Mappia racemosa Jacquin var. brachycarpaGrisebach are designated.
