Recubrimientos Fotocatalíticos sobre Sustratos Poliméricos para Fotodegradación de Compuestos Orgánicos Volátiles (COVs) a Baja Temperatura

Resumen
El dióxido de titanio (TiO2) presenta varias aplicaciones en el área de catálisis. Actualmente se estudia
como fotocatalizador para degradar compuestos orgánicos volátiles (VOCs). Este trabajo reporta la
síntesis, caracterización y evaluación de películas fotocatalíticas sobre polipropileno (PP) para la
degradación de VOCs. Dos soluciones para recubrir se prepararon (R1 y R2) por la técnica de Sol-Gel y
se depositan sobre el PP por el método de inmersión a velocidad constante. La actividad de las películas
se evaluó en un fotorreactor bajo irradiación de luz UV a temperatura ambiente y presión atmosférica,
analizando el gas producto por CG. Los análisis por EDS indican que el Ti esta presente en el área
recubierta. Las energías de bandgap de las películas en estudio son cercanas a las del P25. El
recubrimiento con mejor actividad y adherencia es el R2, el cual presenta una morfología con mayor
densificación, efecto originado por las partículas de P25 adicionadas.
