Resumen
Se sintetizaron y caracterizaron 8 tipos de películas delgadas: 1) TiO2, 2) ZnO en forma pura, 3)
TiO2 impurificadas con Níquel, 4) TiO2 impurificado con Zinc, 5) bicapas de TiO2/ZnO, 6) bicapas de
ZnO/TiO2, 7) bicapas de TiO2 impurificada con Zn (TiO2:Zn) sobre TiO2 y 8) bicapas de TiO2:Zn sobre
ZnO para su evaluación en la fotodecoloración de azul de metileno (AM) en medio acuoso bajo
irradiación ultravioleta. Las películas delgadas sintetizadas al interior de tubos a 450ºC y mediante el
método de depósito químico de vapor asistido por aerosol se caracterizaron mediante el método de haz
rasante por difracción de rayos X, espectroscopia Raman, microscopia electrónica de barrido, microscopia
de fuerza atómica y espectroscopia ultravioleta-visible. Sus propiedades fotocatalíticas se determinaron a
partir del porcentaje de fotodecoloración de AM. Las películas delgadas obtenidas fueron homogéneas,
uniformes y muy adherentes al sustrato. Todas las muestras de TiO2 puras e impurificadas con Ni y con
Zn presentaron como única fase a la anatasa Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el espesor, la
morfología y la rugosidad de los materiales sintetizados son factores que modifican sus propiedades
fotocatalíticas. Además, la impurificación de TiO2 con Zinc (~0.5 %at.) y la combinación en bicapas de
ZnO/TiO2 incrementan el porcentaje de decoloración de AM en comparación con las películas de TiO2 en
forma pura. Las películas delgadas de ZnO, TiO2:Zn (0.5%) y ZnO/TiO2 fueron los que presentaron
mayor porcentaje de decoloración de AM (92%). Estos materiales sintetizados al interior de tubos pueden
utilizarse como sistemas para el control y eliminación de este tipo de contaminantes
