Síntesis de nuevos monómeros acrílicos fotopolimerizables a partir de isosorbide y compuestos tipo espiroortocarbonato para el desarrollo de nuevas formulaciones y su aplicación como material restaurativo dental

Resumen
En el presente trabajo se reporta la preparación de diferentes resinas dentales, mediante
la incorporación de tres nuevos monómeros uretano-acrilato con diferentes
funcionalidades, en sustitución del Bis-GMA, utilizándolos mayoritariamente como matriz
para formular compósitos dentales. Uno de los monómeros, corresponde a un
compuesto de origen biológico Is-UDMA, el cual se obtuvo a partir de isosorbide, como
fuente natural. Así mismo, los otros monómeros corresponden al SOC-IFDMA y SOCUDMA,
los cuales poseen grupos funcionales de tipo espiroortocarbonato (SOC), para
proporcionar a la resina dental la propiedad de antiencogimiento al curar o
fotopolimerizar. Los monómeros tanto el biobasado Is-UDMA, como los derivados del
SOC, fueron formulados por separado, utilizando un relleno inorgánico, un agente de
acoplamiento y un sistema de iniciadores, para obtener un material compuesto o resina
dental. Estas resinas dentales formuladas fueron evaluadas para determinar su eficiencia
como material restaurativo dental, realizando pruebas de análisis dinámico mecánico
(DMA), resistencia a la flexión, absorción y solubilidad en agua, cinéticas de reacción de
fotopolimerización (por la determinación de la conversión del doble enlace) y
contracción, además de realizar un estudio de la citotoxidad de los monómeros y análisis
de microfiltración in vitro en órganos dentales. Todas las pruebas fueron comparadas
utilizando como referencia Bis-GMA, el cual fue formulado a la misma concentración que
las formulaciones con los nuevos monómeros acrílicos sintetizados, obteniendo mejores
propiedades, cuando se usa mezcla con los nuevos monómeros, sobrepasando los
valores de referencia, y quedando dentro de los límites establecidos por la norma ISO4049.
Concluyendo que las formulaciones propuestas con los nuevos monómeros
dentales tienen alto potencial para ser utilizadas como materiales restaurativos dentales
al ser comparadas con las resinas comerciales.
