"In the present study 22 genotypes of safflower were evaluated in ni ne environments with an objetive of identifying the best genotypes with reference to its adaptation, stability of yield and seed weight.
The combined analysis of variance indicated highly significant differences for the source of variation due to interaction of genotypes with environment in the two variables.
The clasification of the genotypes for the degree of stability showed that the genotypes Saffola-208 and Jordán CM-1082 for yield and seed weight respectively, the highly consistent and stable genotype within the clasification of stables were: Israel CM-1125 for yield and Líbano CM-1098 for seed weight, were better in the favorable environments but were inconsistent; the genotype Fino-7b manifested good yields under unfavorable conditions and were consitent; the genotypes Noreste and Siria CM-1093 for yield and seed weight respectively presented less coefficients than the unitiy and were inconsistent."
