dc.description | "The present study was performed with tomato cultivation, 26 treatments were evaluated under greenhouse
conditions during 1996. The objetive were quantify the
changes in the soil; the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the soil water, and the physics changes of stomatal resistance; hydric potential; and to find some alternative of stress scape.
The soil waterlogged cause disminution of the content of dissolved xygen in the water, to 24 hours under
to 55 µg/1 of 02 and to 72 hours already not existence dissolved oxygen in the soil water.
The soil waterlogged cause that the hydric potential reduced (value but negative) after a period of two hours of stress, and this cause that the stomatal resistance is increased and at the same time the transpiration was reduced.
The tomato plants achieved to survive with a period of soil waterlogged of 24 hours, tough, the damage to the plant is a wilted; a fallen of the petiole (epinasty) and yellow of the lower leaves. Furthemore, of the fact that the yield reduce in a 44 percent.
We were used antitranspirations to avoid that the plants are dehydrated with the soil waterlogged, and be achievement maintained a hydric potential is increased in the tomato plants with stress of up to 48 hours."
