"In this investigacion 14 lines of triticale and a wheat check variety were evaluated in five locations with an objective of estimating the genotype-environment interaction and to find out the stability of each line.
The analysis of variance indicated significant differences for number of spikelets per spike, hectolitric weight, grain yield, spike Iength, grains per spike
and 1000 grain weight in all the locations or in the majority of locations tested. The combined analysis showed highly significant differences for all the characters in the genotypes, localities and interaction between genotype anc' environments.
The three locations Muzquiz. Abasolo and Buenavista were favourable in the expression of characters in the genotypes. The line 66-87, 42-87. 2-88 and 5-88 showed better response in all the environments but were inconsistant. The characters grain yield presented high stability followed by 1000 grain weight and number of spikelets per spike. On the basis of this study the lines 66-87 and 3-88 were classified as high stable varieties."
