dc.description | Field test were carried out to evalúate different chisel plough shares design behaviour. Conventional, winged an plain shares were evaluated at three working depths, without neighbouring or preceding shares interaction. A velocity of 2 m.s-1 was chosen, and, with the aid of a profilometer, the effective loosening area was calculated. From the mean draft force, the specific resistance of each share was calculated.Increases in the draught valees of plain and winged shares was 54% and 84% at the medium working depth, while the loosening area was 63% and 48% greater, respectively, comparing them with the conventional share. The specific resistance ofthis shares compared with the conventional, decreased in 29% for the plain share and 16% for the winged share. The winged or similar chisel plough shares shows high efficiency than the conventional shares on soil loosening.
