The present work aims to analyze the possible recycling strategies for the study area, the Gran La Plata, selecting the most appropriate measures and applying them in situ in an existing house. It is a “social interest housing”, located in the city of Berisso, which has a high level of replicability within the total housing stock in the area. The methodology is developed in two stages: i. the analysis of recycling strategies through a typological and constructive analysis, the preparation of catalogs and adaptation to level B of the Iram 11605 standard; ii. the in situ application of a building recycling, through the selection of a representative typology, the evaluation of alternatives and costs, and the realization of a thermal-energy audit before and after the application of improvements. The results show the feasibility of the strategies in the construction, as well as a substantial reduction of the interior thermal amplitude both in winter and summer, and a reduction of energy consumption in winter.
