| dc.description | El brócoli es una hortaliza cuya producción y consumo deberían incentivarse por sus propiedades funcionales. Existen híbridos en Salta, y si bien para algunos se conocen aspectos de su calidad y rendimiento, no existe información sobre los efectos de distintos manejos culturales, tales como la distancia de plantación. El objetivo del trabajo fue evaluar si la distancia de plantación (15 y 30 cm) afecta la calidad de la cabeza y el rendimiento de los híbridos Formoso y Legacy. Éstos fueron sembrados el 14 de abril de 2016 en bandejas y trasplantados el 18 de mayo de 2016 en un diseño de parcelas divididas, registrándose distintas variables relacionadas con el crecimiento, calidad de las cabezas y rendimiento. El tiempo transcurrido hasta la formación de pella fue menor para Formoso (siendo más precoz que Legacy) y resultó independiente de la distancia de siembra. El número de floretes/pella no dependió de los híbridos ni de las distancias. La altura a pella fue mayor a 15 cm de distancia de trasplante solo para Formoso. El peso de las cabezas cosechadas fue mayor cuando se trasplantó a 30 cm, independientemente del híbrido. Finalmente, no se detectaron diferencias en rendimiento a las distancias comparadas. Debido a que una plantación a 15 cm insume más recursos y esfuerzos, y teniendo en cuenta que no mostró ser conveniente en cuanto al rendimiento, se recomienda plantar ambas variedades a 30 cm para maximizar el peso de las cabezas y satisfacer el deseo de los consumidores. | |
| dc.description | Broccoli is a vegetable whose production and consumption should be encouraged due to its functional properties. There are hybrids in Salta, and although some aspects of their quality and performance are known, there is no information about the effects of different cultural management, such as the distance of plantation. The objective of this work was to evaluate if the distance of plantation (15 and 30 cm) affects the head quality and the performance of Formoso and Legacy hybrids. These were planted on April 4th, 2016 on trays, and later transplanted, on May 18th, 2016, in a split plot design. Different variables related to growth, head quality and yield were recorded. The time necessary for the formation of pella was less for Formoso (being more precocious than Legacy) and was independent of the distance of transplant. The number of florets/pella did not depend on the hybrids or the plantation distances. The height to pella was greater for Formoso when transplanted 15 cm apart. The weight of the harvested heads was greater when transplanted 30 cm apart, independently of the hybrid. Finally, no differences in yield were detected at the distances compared. Because a 15 cm plantation requires more resources and effort, and considering that this distance did not prove to be convenient in terms of yield, it is recommendable to plant both varieties at a distance of 30 cm so as to maximize the weight of the heads and to satisfy the consumer’s desire. | |
