This research expose the links between the specular image with the search of identity and the problem of existence in the drama La imagen del Otro, by Puerto Rican Jaime Martínez Tolentino. The link with the drama by the French Jean-Paul Sartre, Huis clos, will be study, specifically the use of mirror and the image reflected as form to expose the reality of been. In the same manner, the notions of out and inside will be study as opposition between menace and safety in connection with the people who live in them.Este trabajo expone la relación de la imagen especular con la búsqueda de la identidad y el problema de la existencia en la obra dramática La imagen del Otro, del puertorriqueño Jaime Martínez Tolentino. Se estudia el vínculo con la obra dramática del francés Jean-Paul Sartre, Huis clos, sobre todo el uso del espejo y la imagen reflejada entendida como forma de exponer la realidad del ser. Del mismo modo, se analiza la noción de los espacios externos e internos como una oposición de amenaza y resguardo en relación con los personajes que los habitan.
