| dc.description | One of the most important provisions of the viceroy don Francisco de Toledo's administration was the general visit to Peru, made between 1570 and 1575. This document, from the General Archive of the Indies in Seville, registered and classified the taxpayers of the divisions of Indians of La Paz, Cuzco, Arequipa, La Plata and Guamanga between 1570 and 1575, and also contains comparative figures of the collection during the Inca period with respect to the colonial one. He also attached the studies of Alejandro Málaga and Thérese Bouysse-Casagne, who used the Toledo visit to analyze the economy of Arequipa and the ethnic distribution in Charcas in the late 16th century, respectively. | en-US |
| dc.description | Una de las disposiciones más importantes de la administración del virrey don Francisco de Toledo fue la visita general del Perú, efectuada entre 1570 y 1575. Este documento, procedente del Archivo General de Indias de Sevilla, registró y clasificó a los contribuyentes de los repartimientos de indios de La Paz, Cuzco, Arequipa, La Plata y Guamanga entre 1570 y 1575, y contiene también cifras comparativas de la recaudación durante el período incaico respecto del colonial. Adjuntó además los estudios de Alejandro Málaga y Thérese Bouysse-Casagne, que utilizaron la visita de Toledo para analizar la economía de Arequipa y la distribución étnica en Charcas a fines del siglo XVI, respectivamente. | es-ES |
