dc.descriptionThis research explores the cultural construction of the Afro-Peruvian by the Creole elite in the period 1775-1895. Thus, through the category "slave subject", it is possible to deconstruct the social / sexual logic of discourses in literature and politics. A link is also drawn between the artificial foundation of nationality and the irreducible rest that can not be symbolized from the discourse of the nation-state and that makes possible the emergence of modern racism. This book constitutes a complex and fascinating approach to the ideological universe and the sociopolitical practices of the 19th century and a decisive contribution to the knowledge of one of the routes of Peruvian racism, based on the fear of the black man and the desire of the black woman.en-US
dc.descriptionEn esta investigación se explora la construcción cultural de lo afroperuano por la élite criolla en el periodo 1775-1895. Así, por medio de la categoría «sujeto esclavista», se logra desconstruir la lógica social/sexual de los discursos en la literatura y la política. Se traza, asimismo, una vinculación entre la artificial fundación de la nacionalidad y el resto irreductible que no puede ser simbolizada desde el discurso del Estado-nación y que posibilita la emergencia del racismo moderno. Este libro constituye una aproximación compleja y fascinante al universo ideológico y a las prácticas sociopolíticas del siglo XIX y una decisiva contribución al conocimiento de una de las rutas del racismo peruano, fundamentada en el miedo al varón negro y el deseo de la mujer negra.es-ES
