In this article, he addresses different cases where popular sectors demonstra­ted before the judicial authorities in Sinaloa during the second half of the 19th century, in order to highlight those individuals, mostly illiterate, subordinate subjects, who, despite the limitation of their rights as citizens and their little education, they were able to explore and use the legal resources available to defend themselves against situations of abuse of power, related to their work and social life. The republican constitutionality in Mexico, provided a premise of social equality and a new juridical-legal context for the defense of all, through Ju­dges, Mayors, or Prosecutors. These resources could be used regardless of whether they were denied political citizenship or the right to vote.  Este artículo aborda distintos casos donde se manifestaron los sectores po­pulares ante las instancias judiciales en Sinaloa durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, a fin de destacar a aquellos individuos, en su mayoría iletrados, sujetos subalternos, que, a pesar de la limitación de sus derechos como ciu­dadanos y su poca instrucción, fueron capaces de explorar y usar los recur­sos legales disponibles para defenderse ante situaciones de abuso de poder, relacionadas con su vida laboral y social. La constitucionalidad republicana en México brindaba una premisa de igualdad social y un nuevo contexto ju­rídico-legal para la defensa de todos, a través de jueces, alcaldes o fiscales. Estos recursos podían ser utilizados, independientemente de que se les negara la ciudadanía política o el derecho a votar.
