The finding of a mimetic species of mantid (Acontiothespis sp., probably cordillerae), as well as laboratory observations on its biology and habits, are reported. A discussion on the need to study the species in the field follows.Se notifica el hallazgo de un mántido mimético (Acontiothespis sp., probablementecordillerae), con anotaciones sobre su ciclo biológico y hábitos, observados en el laboratorio. Se hace una discusión sobre la necesidad de estudiar la especie a nivel de campo.
