Located in the central-western region of the state of Goiás, Brazil, the Críxás Greenstone Belt has a roughly triangular map outlíne. A tentative explanation to the deformational history of the greenstone ís presented. It is belíeved that structures representing six deformational phases can be recognized, including the dominantly ductile and subordinate rigid ones. The deformational history of the studíed area is refered to a more general model, which tries to explain the causes of such deformations.
