dc.description.abstractThis work consists of analyzing the implementation of an Information and Communication Technology (ICTs) system in the health care service for urgencies and emergencies, in the pre-hospital context. Based on the bibliographical review and the field work, the challenges faced by the professionals of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) are pointed out in the search for guaranteeing an agile and qualified service in its entire area of ​​coverage. The experience took place in the sphere of the Municipality of Betim, located in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. For the analysis, the methodological option was the triangulation between the techniques of participant observation, bibliographic review and document analysis. Based on the analysis of the information and testing the resource under study, it can be concluded that the system represents a good proposal for improving communication, with good acceptance, effectiveness and efficiency, thus being indispensable and necessary, which does not exclude the need to make some adjustments so that the final result is satisfactory. It also demonstrates, in a practical and situated way, the importance of Information and Communication Technologies in health care, as well as the possibility of productive partnerships between the public and private sectors in serving the population.
