Resumen
This paper investigates approaches on visibility and representation of lesbian and bisexual women in feminist film theories. Theoretical texts were selected considering the multiplicity of experiences of these women, as well the consubstantiality of the social relations between them and the processes that build their identities. Publications that include the intersectionalities of gender, race, class, generation, among other categories and elements that can be considered markers of difference or inequality were prioritized. Reflecting on the dynamics of film productions, the analyses conducted result in three more common theoretical approaches. First of all, those that focus on lesbians and bisexuals as characters in fictional narratives, going through the questions of representation limitations. Next, we focus on the research on the authorship of lesbian women as directors. Finally, the discussions on the presence of lesbians as public in the cinema are considered, dealing with debates on spectatorship and interpretative strategies. In drawing up the panorama described, the guideline of the work is to emphasize the possibility of such discussions contributing to the struggle for rights, especially for communicative citizenship.
