dc.description.abstractHigh performance teams present combination of skills critical to organizations. This subject has been studied in different perspectives representing distinct areas of activity, such as psychology, administration, and consulting/market. The aim of this theoretical essay is to present the complementarity of concepts and practices of team management in these different approaches. The literature review identifies concepts and characteristics of high performance teams from their formation to maturity. Teams may still perform poorly when developing dysfunctional behaviors, which points to management practices that must be directed. Recent discussions show the role of team management on the demand for adaptability to environmental changes. This study points out possibilities of future research for innovation in the team management.
