Resumen
Based on cultural studies and gender studies, this article analyzes the gendered subject positions made available by four animated films: Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo and The Incredibles. As a methodology, screen ethnography and Foucauldian-inspired discourse analysis were used. The analysis concluded that in these films, the positions of romantic, irrational and childlike subjects are demanded for women and, for men, the position of caregiver, courageous and heroic subject. In this sense, the films analyzed combine the dissemination of female positions widely known in our society, particularly with regard to a femininity based on heteronormative
patterns, while presenting small cracks through which other subjectivities may emerge.
