Resumen
This action plan was developed with the objective of analyzing the trajectory of
actions and practices developed by a school community from February 2010 to
February 2015 in a municipal school of Belo Horizonte, in the Barreiro’s region, about
subject Cultural Diversity and Relations-Racial-Ethnic. The choice of this theme
assumes that school always prevailed invisible the theme Cultural Diversity and
Racial Ethnic Relations. I Participate of the "Racial Ethnic Barreiro’s Group
discussion" and interested me to implement an action plan contemplating the subject.
I used the books that are part of Afro school kits and other underutilized in the library.
I encouraged the students to read the African kit, leading them to reflect about their
origins. In a community predominantly of African descent, but they do not identify as
such is a matter of human rights. The students must to know their origins and
assume their culture. The community is imbued with the European hegemonic
culture. The construction of identity is understood here as a process. We believe that
recognizing and accepting belonging to a culture, a religion, recognize it and value it
with all its features contribute to ease religious prejudices and racism. When is given
to the students the opportunity to know other references they can respect and value
diversity in its broadest sense, in their most diverse spaces. Therefore, we have
developed systematic actions in the classroom with the theme, as well as involving
the whole school in cultural diversity shows over that time. As a result we obtained a
greater integration of the three school shifts over the issue, greater recognition of
students and educators of their origins and the implementation of the curriculum
within the diverse part of the discipline of Cultural Diversity and Ethnic-Racial
Relations.
