The purpose of this paper is to analyze the financing of the pension system of the Province of Corrientes during the period 2016 - 2020. For this objective, we developed basic concepts, the principles and objectives of pension systems in general; as well as the sources of financing, the benefit expense and its impact on the provincial public finances of the chosen analysis unit. The results show a growing deficit, with the consequent risk to the sustainability of the system.El objeto de este trabajo es analizar el financiamiento del sistema previsional de la Provincia de Corrientes durante el período 2016 – 2020. Para tal fin, se desarrollan conceptos básicos, los principios y objetivos de los sistemas previsionales en general; así como las fuentes de financiamiento, el gasto prestacional y su impacto en las finanzas públicas provinciales de la unidad de análisis escogida. Los resultados recogidos demuestran un déficit en aumento, con el consiguiente riesgo para la sustentabilidad del sistema.
