Resumen
The present investigation finds motivation from the concern that exists due to the deplorable management of plastic waste in restaurants located in the town of Kennedy. In these establishments it is very common to find single-use plastic, it is for this reason that the initiative to address this issue and find a solution was born, since only 15 percent of the waste is used throughout the city.
The use of plastic waste, in addition to being beneficial for the environment, can also be beneficial for restaurants that adopt this practice, since this type of waste is recyclable, that is, it can be reused or reconditioned for a longer useful life. With this, restaurants have several options to dispose of plastic waste, among these are: Reuse some of the plastics they use, such as the plastic bags in which they carry the different products (as long as it is possible), sell the waste generated plastics, such as single-use plastics or any other plastic waste.
In this way, a good management of plastic waste is guaranteed, at the same time the waste generated by restaurants is reduced, this directly impacts sanitary landfills where this type of waste is generally taken.
According to a study carried out by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) plastic waste generated by humanity ends up directly in garbage dumps, landfills or burning these. This has a direct impact on the quality of life of both humans and nature, since according to research carried out by the WWF in conjunction with the University of Newcastle in Australia, it is estimated that each human could be ingesting up to five grams of plastic per day. week through food, water and air, the equivalent of a credit card.
This is really worrying for everyone, since some of the benefits of plastic waste is how easy it is to recycle it. That is why it was decided to address this issue for the development of this project.
