The design proposal of the secondary and middle school in the La Cumbre neighborhood of the municipality of Floridablanca, arises as a response to the architectural problem existing in the relationship between architecture and pedagogy, characterized by rigidity, developing old and traditional architectural schemes that make space a limitation in educational praxis, therefore, it is necessary to apply an architectural concept that promotes spatial configurations that respond to the dynamic and continuous conditions of the contemporary educational process, which is possible through the transformation of space as an articulating element based on adaptability. To this end, a research methodology is implemented consisting of a field research phase, in which the precedents of secondary and middle school basic education in Colombia and also of the La Cumbre neighborhood are identified, the basic principles of architectural adaptability are understood, deepening in their types of adaptive response and adaptation processes, the educational center is characterized in its normative, urban, formal, functional and technical areas based on the SED standards and the characterization of the user and the identification of the urban components of the La Cumbre neighborhood are carried out, to later carry out the applied research phase, which allows to consolidate the architectural proposal of the educational center deepening in the concept of architectural adaptability of passive type that responds to conditioning factors internal, from the SED standards, to be applied in the basic pedagogical environments.
