Resumen
This document contains the research and consultation of different bibliographic sources related to the materials used for the elaboration of ecological bricks and their use in the construction of sustainable housing.
On the other hand, the process for the elaboration of ecological bricks is described, as well as the materials, physical and chemical properties and the proportions to be used in the filling of PET recyclable plastic bottles, which will be collected through recycling campaigns directed to the population of the municipality of Caldas Boyacá.
This research also shows the results obtained by using the ecological brick as a construction system of walls for housing according to the parameters required by the NSR-10 Colombian regulation for seismic-resistant constructions.
An economic proposal is also presented where the construction costs are related to the traditional model and the use of ecological bricks. The evaluation of the project showed that the use of PET can be efficiently implemented in the single-family house model, contributing to the environment and mitigating environmental pollution from the area of civil engineering.
